Movement within Stillness for solo instrument (2015) 8'

The piece “Movement within stillness” is commissioned by Koninklijk Conservatorium for an opening ceremony of the academic year of 2015. The piece is a small experiment for reducing/accelerating the time and how we perceive them. The main materials are 4 notes (B, C, G, A) per bar and 3 note values ( crotchet, quaver, semiquaver ) throughout the whole piece. And the piece lists the process of reducing the cycle from 4/4 to 1/4 by subtracting the 16th note. Since the piece is composed for any solo instrument, the particular phrase or articulations are not notated and transpose is not required for those instruments.

Commissioned by Koninklijk Conservatorium

Live recording on 31th, August 2015 at Schoenberg Zaal, Koninklijk Conservatorium, Den Haag
